There have been sales on these since they dropped and I eventually caved and after copping the GLIIIs in the pack, I had to swoop these Asics Gel Saga Winter Trail as well!
Now that I have both, I think I’m actually feeling these Sagas more! That’s not saying much considering I’ve been a big fan of the model for a while now. The pairs from the Winter Trail pack definitely give off that winter boot vibe with the rope laces to complete the look. The speckled area of the midsole is a nice touch as well.
The material quality seem a little more rugged on these, probably in order to go with the theme. The shoe is mostly mesh and suede, with the suede in the back being more rugged and the stuff in the front a little more soft. The Asics stripe on the side is a rubbery leather type of material. Overall I’d say the mix of materials is surprisingly good for the price that this shoe can be had and definitely worth your money if you can get them below retail!
These Asics Gel Saga Winter Trail fit true to size and are super comfortable. This model doesn’t have the split tongue of the Gel Lyte III and fit a little more like a traditional pair of vintage runners. This particular pair might seem a little stiff but once on foot they are very comfy just like any other pair of Gel Saga. I highly recommend these if the color combo is your thing, they won’t let you down on comfort or materials.
